KKN Undip Team Equips Elementary Students with Digital Skills Through Canva

Pemalang, tekkom.ft.undip.ac.id – Team II of the Community Service Program (KKN) from Diponegoro University (Undip) conducted a training program titled “Canva Application Training: Equipping Elementary Students with Relevant Digital Skills” at SDN 01 Mengori. Led by Rachel Sola Gracia, a Computer Engineering student, the program aimed to introduce and teach 4th-grade students how to use the Canva graphic design application. Rachel and her team provided guidance and education to help students practice using Canva, enabling them to enhance their digital skills and become more proficient in using technology relevant to today’s advancements.

The training began with an introduction to the basics of using Canva, a popular application for easily creating various graphic designs. The students were taught how Canva can be used to develop their creativity, from making posters and presentations to working on other visual projects.

Following the educational session, the students were encouraged to practice using Canva directly. They learned how to create simple designs, choose templates, add text and images, and adjust design elements according to their creativity. This program not only provided technical knowledge but also supported the development of the students’ creativity.

During the program, 21 fourth-grade students at SDN 01 Mengori showed great enthusiasm and successfully grasped the benefits of using Canva as a medium to express their creativity. Rachel and her team offered hands-on assistance as the students applied their newfound knowledge, ensuring that each student was able to create their own work.

Through this training, it is hoped that the students of SDN 01 Mengori will continue to develop their digital skills, making them better prepared to face future challenges. The program is expected to enhance their creative potential, which will be valuable in various aspects of life in an increasingly advanced digital era. Additionally, it is hoped that this program will serve as a foundational step in equipping the young generation in Mengori Village with strong technological skills.
