Surakarta, tekkom.ft.undip.ac.id – Fadlil Ferdiansyah, a student from the Computer Engineering department at Universitas Diponegoro, successfully organized a graphic design training program using the Canva application, themed “Creativity Without Limits.” The event took place at the Pendopo of Joyotakan Village on Saturday, July 27, and was attended by over 21 participants, primarily consisting of members of the children’s forum and Karang Taruna (youth organization).
The training aimed to enhance the digital skills of teenagers in graphic design, particularly for those looking to develop small businesses or simply expand their creative horizons. In addition to focusing on technical knowledge, the training motivated participants to be more creative in various aspects of life, especially in supporting local business activities and community engagement. By mastering graphic design, participants are expected to contribute more to promoting local events and products.
During the training, Fadlil explained the basic steps for using Canva, including creating an account, selecting templates, and providing tips for producing attractive and professional designs. Although some participants initially faced difficulties in understanding design concepts and using the application, Fadlil’s patient approach and interactive teaching methods successfully boosted their confidence. Participants were able to complete the assigned design tasks effectively.
One participant, Cahyo, expressed gratitude for the training, stating, “I used to be confused when I had to make a flyer. Now I can create one myself with Canva, and the results are great!” he said enthusiastically.
The training concluded with a flyer design competition themed around Independence Day on August 17, where each participant had the opportunity to apply the skills they had learned. All participants eagerly took part in the competition, striving to showcase their best ideas. Three participants with the most creative, thematic, and unique designs were awarded special prizes. Through this program, it is hoped that the youth in Joyotakan Village will become more digitally empowered and creative, enabling them to compete in this digital age. Fadlil hopes that this training marks the beginning of positive change in the community.
