Semarang, tekkom.ft.undip.ac.id – The Department of Computer Engineering at Diponegoro University hosted a guest lecture on Friday, September 12, 2025, titled “Tren Ancaman Siber 2025” The event explored current issues in data security and the strategies needed to respond to emerging threats. Held on the 5th floor of the Computer Laboratory Building, the session featured leading Indonesian IT expert Onno W. Purbo as the keynote speaker and was moderated by Bellia Dwi Cahya Putri, S.T., M.T.
During his talk, Onno presented insights from his work, “AI dalam Cyber Security: Dari Teori hingga Praktik Pertahanan Digital (AI in Cyber Security: From Theory to Digital Defense Practice)” He outlined the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity, its practical applications, and the challenges that come with it. A standout part of his presentation was the discussion on Generative AI and Human-in-the-Loop Security, a model that combines AI-driven analysis with human judgment to improve threat detection accuracy while upholding ethical and responsible use.
Onno emphasized the importance of understanding AI not only from a technical perspective but also through the lens of ethics, transparency, and data governance. By adopting these principles, he noted, institutions can ensure safer and more accountable implementation of AI technologies. Participants responded positively to the session, noting that the material was clear, engaging, and delivered with enthusiasm.
