Semarang, tekkom.ft.undip.ac.id – Students of the 2022 cohort from the Bachelor of Computer Engineering Program carried out the Kuliah Kerja Lapangan (KKL) or Industrial Field Study from 20–24 October 2025. A total of 157 students participated in the activity, accompanied by 7 supervising lecturers. KKL is a compulsory course designed to equip students with real-world industrial experience while providing an opportunity to apply the academic knowledge they have acquired throughout their studies.
Through this program, KKL is expected to produce graduates who possess not only strong academic and professional abilities but also interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. Direct exposure to the industry serves as an important foundation for students to understand how technology—especially in the field of computer engineering—is applied in actual work environments.
This year, students visited six companies located in Jakarta, Cikarang, and Bandung, namely Cisco, Oracle Academy, Fortinet, PT INTI, Indofood, and BRIN. During each visit, students received firsthand explanations about how companies utilize technology, how workflows operate, and what challenges industries face in today’s digital era. Additionally, this activity opens opportunities for potential collaboration between the Department of Computer Engineering and the respective industries.
With the completion of this year’s KKL, students are expected not only to understand the real-world application of computer engineering but also to identify industry needs and opportunities, gain new insights into the professional world, and strengthen their motivation to pursue their goals and future careers.
