PKM stands for Student Creativity Program organized by the Higher Education to provide space for students to show their creativity. PKM is a form of effort made by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DP2M), Directorate General of Higher Education in improving the quality of students (students) in higher education so that in the future they can become members of society who have academic and or professional abilities who can apply, develop and disseminate science, technology and or art and enrich national culture.

PKM was first implemented in 2001, namely after the implementation of the restructuring program within the Directorate General of Higher Education. Educational, research and community service activities, which have been full of active participation of students, are integrated into one vehicle called the Student Creativity Program.

PKM was developed to lead students to achieve a level of enlightenment of creativity and innovation based on mastery of science and technology and high faith. In order to prepare themselves to become leaders who are scholars, entrepreneurs and have an independent and wise spirit, students are given the opportunity to implement their abilities, expertise, attitudes of responsibility, build teamwork and develop independence through creative activities in the field of science they are engaged in.
